Following sell-out seasons in New York and Sydney, the international multi-award-winning musical star of stage and screen Caroline O’Connor returns to the UK in her one-woman show Caroline O’Connor: The Showgirl Within, for a strictly limited season at the Garrick Theatre in London’s West End from Monday 27 September to Sunday 3 October 2010.
Caroline O’Connor: The Showgirl Within celebrates Caroline’s culmination of years of stage and screen experience. A uniquely versatile performer whose triple threat talents in acting, song and dance transcend traditional boundaries, Caroline is joined by an exhilirating ensemble of dancers for her first ever musical solo show in the West End.
Caroline O'Connor: The Showgirl Within is helmed by TMA Award-winning director Russell Labey, who received a 2010 Whatsonstage.com Award nomination for New Boy starring Nicholas Hoult, and choreographed by Andrew Wright, who has recently won extensive critical acclaim for his choreography of 42nd Street at Chichester this summer.
Caroline O'Connor is a multi award-winning singer, dancer and actress who regularly graces the stages of Broadway, the West End, the Royal Albert Hall and Sydney Opera House. As Nini in Baz Luhrmann's Oscar-winning film Moulin Rouge, Caroline came to the attention of music lovers all over the world. Some of her signature roles include Piaf, Judy Garland, both Roxie and Velma in Chicago, Anita in West Side Story and Mabel in Mack & Mabel.
